I recently conducted a interview with Oklahoma’s Sophomore shortstop Brandon Zaragoza. During his Freshman season, he hit .251 with 46 hits and tacked on 20 RBI’s. Just last season, he put together a .279 batting average and collected 67 hits with 28 RBI’s. Zaragoza was also selected as a Big 12 conference honarable mention for this season.

Question 1:

Q: Who do you look up to the most in life? And why?

A: “I look up to my mom the most because she is the strongest person I know. She defeated cancer during my freshman year or college and I’ve never met someone stronger than her.”

Question 2:

Q: What is the best advice you have been given? And by who?

A: “The best advice given to me was by Skip Johnson our head coach which he tells us to stick to our routines. I like it because it gives me a sense of trust and belief in myself to stick to what I know and knowing that’ll be good enough to get the job done.”

Question 3:

Q: What has been the best baseball moment in your lifetime?

A: “My favorite moment in baseball was playing my first collegiate game on opening day vs Long Beach State my freshman year, it was beyond an adrenaline rush, and a game I will never forget.”

Q: What is your Gameday routine?

A: “My routine always begins with a meal that consists of chicken before I take my BP. After BP, I usually listen to some music and get ready taping my wrist from left to right. After that I become locked in and fix my hair, then head down onto the field.”

Question 5:

Q: What made you pick the University Of Oklahoma?

A: “I chose Oklahoma because of how comfortable I felt being close to my family and the staff and players were extremely welcoming.”

Q: Since being at Oklahoma what part of your game has improved the most?

A: “I think my hitting has become the most improved since I have been at OU. There have been countless hours I have spent trying to be the best hitter that I can be and I have slowly but surely progressed.”

Question 7:

Q: Who is the funniest guy in the Oklahoma Clubhouse?

A: “Blake Brewster knows how to make everyone laugh because he’s always high energy and knows how to bring smiles and laughter to everyone.”

Question 8:

Q: What are your plans after the University of Oklahoma?

A: “My hopes and dreams are to make it to the league someday and give back to my parents for all the money and hours they have invested in my baseball career.”

Question 9:

Q: What would you say to kids wanting to play college baseball?

A: “My best advice to kids would be, if you want something bad enough, you have to go out and get it, work as hard as you can until you know you can’t give anymore”

Q: What is your favorite thing to eat and drink?

A: “I enjoy eating chicken Alfredo more than any food with a nice cold dr.pepper.”

Q: What is your favorite thing to do during your free time?

A: “I enjoy being around my friends and family. Laughing and hanging out with them always puts my in a great mood.”
