In this opening round matchup, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Baylor Bears 6-3. In the first inning the Sooners scored 4 runs on 3 hits, sparked by a 3 run home run by Nicole Pendley.

The bats for the Sooners collected 9 hits and were led by Macey Hatfield with 2-3 with 2 singles. Nicole Mendes went 1-4 with a single, Caleigh Clifton went 1-2 with a single and a sac fly. Shay Knighten went 1-3 with a single, Fale Aviu went 1-2 with a single, Nicole Pendley went 1-3 with a 3 run home run, Lea Wodach went 1-3 with a single and Kelsey Arnold went 1-3 with a single. The Sooners got yet another good start from pitcher Paige Parker. She went 6 innings only giving up 1 run on 5 hits. The relief pitcher was Paige Lowary and she went 1 inning, giving up 2 runs on just 2 hits.

The Baylor bats collected 7 hits and were led by Maddison Kettler, who went 3-3 with 3 singles. Lindsey Cargill went 2-4 with 2 singles and Jessie Scroggins went 2-3 with 2 singles. The starting pitcher was Kelsee Selman. She went 5 innings, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits.
