This week in college football just got a lot more interesting. There are only 3 weeks left in the regular season and it will be a intense race to the playoffs. The only other time numbers 2, 3 & 4 lost on the same day was October 19, 1985 (2 Michigan to 1 Iowa, 3 Oklahoma to Miami, 4 Arkansas to Texas). This Saturday brought hope to college football fans knowing that their team still has a chance to be in the playoffs.

  1. Alabama– Alabama is the only undefeated team in the power 5 conferences. As you know their offense is lead by the freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts. They are lead by a great coaching staff and the head coach Nick Saban. His record at Alabama is 115-18. This makes his  win percentage of .865. Another note is that Alabama is averaging 258 rushing yards a game. Remaining schedule: 11/19 Alabama vs Chattanooga. 11/26 Alabama vs Auburn.
  2. Ohio State– Ohio States record is a impressive 9-1. Their only loss coming to Penn State. This team is lead by the junior quarterback J.T. Barrett he has 23 touchdown passes, averaging 221 passing yards per game. The team is  averaging 267 rushing yards per game. Remaining schedule: 11/19 Michigan state vs Ohio State. 11/26 Ohio State vs Michigan.
  3. LouisvilleLouisville has a great record of 9-1 suffering there only loss to a good Clemson team by 6 points. The Cardinals are lead by the Heisman front runner (in my opinion) Lamar Jackson. He has 27 passing touchdowns and is averaging 290 yards passing a game and also rushing for another 19 touchdowns and averaging 133 yards rushing per game. Remaining schedule: 11/17  Houston vs Louisville. 11/25 Louisville vs Kentucky.
  4. Michigan- Michigan also has a record of 9-1 suffering a tough loss to Iowa last week on a last second field goal to push Iowa ahead 14-13. But Michigan has played well all year with two key wins against Penn State and Wisconsin. Michigan is lead by the senior running back De’Vone Smith who has 8 rushing touchdowns he also has 592 yards rushing. Michigan was told Monday morning that quarterback Wilton Speights isn’t expected to return, so the backup for Michigan could either be John O’Korn or Shane Morris. Remaining schedule: 11/19 Michigan vs Indiana. 11/26 Ohio State vs Michigan.

This next 3 Saturdays of college football will be hard fought for those 4 playoffs spots. There are a few teams that could still get in but they will need some help Clemson, University of Oklahoma,Washington,Wisconsin. All of these teams are looking for another shakeup week.
